Where are you from?

I was born in Locarno, Canton of Ticino, on 19 November 1969. When I left school, I moved to Lausanne, the capital of the Canton of Vaud, to continue my studies. I now live in Yverdon-les-Bains, a small town in the north of Vaud.

What training do you have?

After school, I went to Lausanne in 1989 to begin my studies at the University of Lausanne. In 1999 I began a two-year Masters degree in "Science and Technology" at TECFA, an academic unit of the University of Geneva which is active in the field of educational technology.

In 2002, with the aim of putting my career on a more entrepreneurial footing, I joined Venturelab, a Swiss federal programme for the promotion of start-ups that demonstrate good growth and innovation potential, with my project Queboo, which resulted from a collaboration between my company A Project Apart and Eric Harth, CEO of Netlogix.

What professional experience do you have?

In a career spanning more than 12 years so far, I have developed and acquired solidly based experience in the areas of design, accessibility, usability and information design, with special reference to the design and construction of user interfaces.

I have worked in technology centres where I have carried out design and e-learning projects for federal institutions within the Swiss Virtual Campus with the objective of developing advanced web solutions using a wide spectrum of technologies and software.

I have worked with companies and institutions including the Swiss bank Pictet & Cie, University of Lausanne, Blue-Infinity, Equiterre, Coup d'Pouce, Sequential, Netlogics, Valmont, Dubois & Dépraz and Universal in Switzerland, as well as Deloitte, Warner Bros (USA) et Emplonia (Denmark) abroad. My mission is to develop enriched solutions for online presence by means of the analysis, structure and shaping of information, content and complex graphic occurrences.

What are your skills?

From designing wireframes to integrating user interfaces, my skills cover the areas of graphic design, information design, front-end programming, prototype integration and producing content with high visual impact (video, special effects, etc.).

Are you Certified?

Yes, I'm an ADOBE Certified Expert (ACE) for Photoshop & Illustrator and ADOBE Certified Instructor (ACI) for Photoshop & Illustrator.

How long have you been an information designer?

Since 1998, when I began working on a freelance basis for Swiss and foreign companies.

What is your mission?

I combine modernity with tradition. Tradition is the keynote of my mission to help people develop fresh, innovative websites. At the same time, a modern, forward-looking approach is evident in my design, code structure, publication system and brand strategy.

I naturally advocate accessibility and web standards, using methods and ideas capable of changing how people think about and perceive the Internet.

Where do you find your inspiration?

By watching films, reading specialist magazines such as Design Council, Etapes, 7thfloor, Aiga or Infodesign, and looking at advertisements, but above all by talking to people in cafés, restaurants, trams – in fact just about anywhere!
